General Description
Hidden amongst a profusion of olive and oak trees, Les Chenes is a perfect spot for a peaceful holiday whilst still being near to the amenities of Porto Vecchio and some lovely coastal beaches. The pretty village of Araggio is 5 minutes walk away and has a good traditional restaurant called l`Oree du Site with both indoor and outdoor tables as well as a small restaurant called La Casette which serves salads, crepes, cheeses and charcuterie in its garden. The old impressive fortress of Castellu d`Araggio is about 30 minutes walk; it has breathtaking views and dates back to around 1500 BC. The beautiful beaches of St Cyprien and Cala Rossa have watersports and bars and are about 10-15 minutes drive; the centre of Porto Vecchio, full of cafes, restaurants and boutiques is only 6km away.
When you arrive at Les Chenes your senses are immediately aroused by the fragrant odours coming from the blend of herbs and plants throughout the garden. A landscape gardener by profession, the owner has used his expertise to create his own Corsican hideaway. The pool is accessed by one of the charming stone paths the owner has made, and has wonderful views over the mountains as well as a delightful summer house for relaxing in.

You enter into the open plan kitchen with a fridge/freezer, cooking rings, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Adjacent is the dining area with table and chairs plus the living area with 2 sofas, satellite TV, DVD and stereo; this room has french windows on both sides providing natural light throughout the day. A corridor leads to a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and access to an outside terrace, a separate wc, and a twin bedroom also with en-suite shower room. Two further bedrooms are in a wing entered via a terrace: one is a double bedroom with en-suite shower and wc, the other is a twin bedroom also with en-suite shower and wc. Each room has its own access as well as a communicating door between the 2 rooms. Around the property are 3 terraces with table and chairs; the one by the kitchen has a stone barbecue. All 4 bedrooms have overhead fans; a cot and highchair are available - please request in advance.
Beside the 8m x 4.5m swimming pool with Roman steps is a lovely covered summer house with seating and loungers.
