General Description
This property has a plot of 1000m² in the lovely old historical village of Vrbanj on the Island Hvar. The village is in an elevated location only 3km from the sea and is full of old stone houses and narrow cobbled streets; it is one of the prettiest places on the island and has just a few hundered local inhabitants. There is a local shop and post office in the village 200 metres from the property.
Vrbanj is 3km from the coastal village of Vrboska which has shingle beaches and a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Another interesting place nearby is Jelsa; this is just another 5 minutes drive and has a charming harbour and long promenade by the sea with a number of restaurants and bars. Hvar town is 25 minutes drive and is a bustling centre with an old town square, a colourful harbour full of smart yachts and a stylish riva here you will find numerous trendy bars and restaurants. You can also hop on a boat during the day to the nearby Pakleni Islands such as Palmizana, Stipanska and Zdrilca for swimming and relaxation.
DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION
The property consists of two stone houses: the Main House and the Little Cottage, which face each other from opposite sides of the pool. Outside mid June to early September the Main House can be rented by itself, in which case the cottage remains empty. Both properties have been recently renovated retaining the lovely stone exteriors whilst the interiors have modern fittings and tasteful furnishings. The delightful garden is full of plants such as rosemary, lavander, lemons and oranges which surround the houses. In the centre is the 7m x 3.5m swimming pool and terrace with sunloungers, dining table and chairs for 10, plus a barbecue.
Main House (sleeps 8). You enter into the spacious living/dining room with a sofa, satellite TV and DVD plus table and chairs for 6; open plan to this is the kitchen with cooker, oven, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. Off the living room is a utility room with washing machine with iron and ironing board, and a double bedroom with bathroom/wc. Outside steps lead you up to the first floor which has a small kitchen with hob, cooker, microwave and fridge plus table and chairs for 4. A door leads to the living room with 2 armchairs, sofa, satellite TV and DVD. Off here is a bathroom/wc, a double bedroom with bathroom/wc, and another double bedroom with shower room/wc. Stairs lead up to a twin bedroom with a sloping ceiling. There is broadband internet access; the house and bedrooms are air conditioned.
Little Cottage (sleeps 2). You enter via the terrace with a outdoor table and chairs to seat 2 into the living/dining area with small dining table and chairs, sofa, satellite TV andDVD; open plan to this is kitchen with cooker, hob, microwave and fridge. Getting there: Saturday arrival at Split. Transit by road/ferry 2 hours 40 minutes.
