Ground Floor
Double front doors open into the small entrance hall, which adjoins the large open-plan living area. Doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms are found from a central hallway on the left. The villa has white walls, square tiled floors and high, sloping wooden beamed ceilings throughout. These features help to keep the villa at a cool temperature during the summer heat, and the bedrooms have air-conditioning for especially warm evenings.
The light and comfortable open-plan living area has a cosy corner sitting area with a large corner sofa and coffee table. On a wall there are shelves and a cabinet holding the satellite TV, CD Stereo and Playstation 2. There’s plenty to keep the kids amused and out of the midday sun for half an hour.
To the left is a smart dining area with a large wooden table and eight chairs, a tall glass cabinet and a side cabinet below a mirror. An open doorway takes you through to the kitchen with breakfast table and chairs, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen has two sets of doors opening on to the pool terrace where there is a shaded outdoor dining veranda. Adjacent to the kitchen is a small utility room.
Villa Melissa has four good-sized bedrooms at one end of the house. The master double bedroom has a pretty wooden-framed double bed, bedside cabinets with small reading lamps and its own en-suite shower room. It also has a small armchair and a sideboard with a large framed mirror. Wooden doors inset with large panels of glass open out on to the sunny pool terrace and gardens.
There is another double bedroom which has doors opening to the gardens at the front of the villa, and shares an adjacent full bathroom with the bedroom opposite. This bedroom is furnished with twin beds and has doors opening onto the sun-filled pool terrace. The fourth and final bedroom has twin beds, doors opening to the front of the villa and its own en-suite shower room.
Outside
This villa has a unique barbecue kitchen, which is part of the main building but also feels part of the garden as it has large folding doors opening onto the pool terrace. A doorway leads into here from the living/dining room. As well as an oven, fridge/freezer and tiled sink area, this room has a large, open, brick fireplace and a table and chairs. After preparing a mountain of food here in the shade, you can walk onto the terrace and place it onto the sizzling hot barbecue.
The gardens at Villa Melissa overlook gorgeous views of the neighbouring open fields full of olive trees, to the faraway layers of blue/grey mountains.
On the large pool terrace is a covered outdoor dining area where you can enjoy a long, lazy lunch in the shade. The private rectangular pool has integral steps that lead you gently into the sparkling blue water. Green lawns lie to either side of the pool, where there are sunloungers to relax in the warm sunshine.
