Location
This attractive holiday villa with private pool and colourful gardens has a quiet location not far from Puerto Pollensa and the Old Town. Puerto Pollensa is a few minutes drive from the villa and has an excellent sandy beach and a range of shops and restaurants. The region has stunning mountain and coastal scenery and there are plenty of opportunities for walking and mountain biking, with boat excursions being an ideal way to view the dramatic rocky shoreline of the nearby Formentor peninsula.
Puerto Pollensa was originally a fishing village which has blossomed into a popular family-friendly resort. The large horseshoe-shaped bay has sheltered waters and a gently shelving sandy beach making it popular with families and young children. There are lots of water sports on offer here from jet ski-ing to windsurfing and the beach has good facilities including beachside cafes, sunbed hire and pedalos. There is also a prestigious sailing club here if you would like to give this a try. Puerto Pollensa has a wide traffic free promenade which extends along the seafront from the marina, past shops, cafes and galleries before narrowing to the ‘Pine Walk’ skirting the bay. Take a stroll along here in the evening and you can stop off for a drink at one of the pavement cafes and watch a variety of street performers at work, from live singers to artists and sand sculptors.
Pollensa Old Town, a few kilometres inland is set against the dramatic backdrop of the Tramuntana Mountains. The town has narrow, cobbled street, pretty squares and ancient architecture and seems a world away from the more modern tourist areas. Placa Major, the main square, has a Sunday morning market where you can buy souvenir handicrafts or fresh local produce such as cheese, olives and Mediterranean vegetabl
