General Description
This villa has lovely, spacious grounds of about 5,000 m2 of garden with beautiful views over local vineyards. It is located at the very end of a little quiet village called Foli which is 3.5 km away from Svetvincenat which is 25 - 30 minutes drive from Pula. The historic town of Svetvincenat, with its mediaeval castle, churches and bell-tower has a large square or Placa which dominates the town and is a real surprise for every visitor - beautiful and authentic with simple and harmonious architecture. The north of the Placa is entirely occupied by the stone Grimani Castel the best preserved castle and one of the most beautiful Venetian buildings in Istria. Every summer 2 important cultural events take place in Svetvincenat: a festival of dance and mime theatre in July, and the Grimani festival of contemporary dance held in August. During these days, the town becomes the cultural centre of Istria. Savicenta has a bank, a post office, several coffee bars, a butcher, a couple of shops and 2 restaurants, Pizzeria `Grimani` and Restaurant `Kod Kastela` - both very good.
In the nearby village of Grzini (5 minutes drive), a typical Istrian farm has opened a lovely restaurant which offers delicious authentic Istrian cuisine. The surrounding countryside is a region rich in flora and fauna, and is a very attractive area with lots of biking tracks and walking trails. Rovinj, with its beaches, superb fish restaurants and night life is 20-25 minutes drive away, and Lim Fjord, famous for oyster and mussel farming and excellent restaurants, is just 15 minutes drive away. You can also find beaches in Fazana, about 25 minutes drive, from which you can take boat trips across to the islands of the famous Brijuni National Park.
