Casa Laurel is in Los Mojones, a quiet residential area of Puerto del Carmen, approximately 15 minutes gentle stroll from the Old Town square of the resort. The square is surrounded by a number of excellent restaurants some of which enjoy pretty views of the harbour with its traditional fishing boats. The evening brings the resort to life and the ambience of the music bars drifts out into the night air. The award-winning Playa Grande beach is sandy and gently sloping making it popular with families. You can hire parasols and sun-loungers here, or explore some of the other rocky coves which are dotted around the coastline if you would prefer something more private. There are several windsurfing and diving schools in Puerto del Carmen offering equipment hire and lessons, as the coastline offers the perfect conditions for both these sports. Swimming, running and cycling are also popular in resort, with several bike hire companies along the promenade.
The resort offers plenty of opportunities for retail therapy and has a range of excellent shops. Souvenir shops line the Avenida or you can browse an array of local crafts and up-market luxury good at the Biosfera shopping centre.
